Integrated Engineering & Test Ops for Missile Systems

Ensuring mission success through end-to-end engineering, simulation, and test execution.

Introduction
Sec 1
From the current strategic weapons system (Trident II submarine launched nuclear ballistic missile) through hypersonic advancements to next-generation missile defense, mission success hinges on the ability to validate performance under real-world conditions. Achieving a balance of accuracy and reliability is paramount.

JRC’s integrated engineering and test operations bridge the gap between concept and combat-readiness, combining system simulations (Model Based Systems Engineering / Digital Engineering), flight testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments to ensure systems perform flawlessly in the field. By supporting program office headquarters and field activities, executing missile flight tests in the U.S. or abroad, and managing the technical data that informs critical decisions, JRC ensures each system is verified, validated, and ready for deployment.

Bringing Sea-Based Defense Ashore

When the Missile Defense Agency needed to transition the AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) system from U.S. Navy destroyers to shore-based facilities in Romania and Poland, JRC delivered the integrated engineering and test operations required to adapt system and facility requirements, verify performance, and maintain the complete technical data package—enabling Initial Operational Capability (IOC) in Romania and on-time delivery of the EPAA Phase II milestone, establishing a critical layer of missile defense aligned with U.S. and allied defense objectives.
